Book Tag

eReader Book Tag

I love being able to carry a billion and one books around on a hand held device! I do I do I do.

So when I spied Destiny @ Howling Libraries doing this tag, I knew I wanted to steal it for my own devices. (Make sure to check out her post too!)

WHAT SUPPORT DO YOU USE TO READ YOUR E-BOOKS? AN E-READER, A TABLET, OR THE PC?

I do own a Kobo. And while there are many reasons why I love it, I don’t use.

I bought an iPad for the primary purpose of reading ebooks. Yes it is heavier, but it means I can read in the dark. My whole night-reading situation atm means I can’t use my lamp – blame the significant other who works god-early morning shifts and the lack of a personal library.

HOW MANY E-BOOKS HAVE YOU READ SINCE YOU STARTED THE NEW “DIGITAL FASHION”?

Ebooks are a fashion now????

According to my Goodreads ebook shelf the answer is 50. However, I have a feeling this isn’t so accurate.

WHAT IS THE LANGUAGE OF YOUR EBOOKS?

Alas, I do not have the talent of bilingualism. So, everything I read is in English.

BUY THEM OR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREE PROMOTIONS AND BOOKS?

Since actively reviewing and searching for books I really want to read I am more likely to buy ebooks. Or borrow them (OverDrive and Libby FTW!)

This doesn’t mean I’m spending loads though – I highly recommend looking at signing up for the Book Riot Daily Deals or Bookperk. Let’s you know of deals available for ebooks under $5 and I’ve picked up a lot of TBR books through them!

Also there are the ARCs that I do not pay for.

DO YOU ENJOY READING CLASSICS OR NEW AUTHORS?

I enjoy reading classics but I prefer to read them in longer sittings, which means I don’t read them as often. I always love discovering a new favourite too!

HOW MANY E-BOOKS DO YOU HAVE?

Currently I have about 30 Adobe Digital Editions, 94 on iBooks*,  20 on Kindle, 1 on Kobo, and 1 on loan on Libby.

*iBooks is obviously where my free books from BookBub used to materialize

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SUPPLIER OF EBOOKS?

NetGalley, Libby, or Amazon deals.

DID YOU COMPLETELY ADHERE TO THE DIGITAL READING OR DO YOU STILL LIVE IN THE AGE OF THE PHYSICAL BOOK?

There is no way I could go fully digital. I love the atmosphere and feel of reading a physical book too much.

Also I can’t get away with reading on my phone while working because it looks ‘unprofessional’.

What about you, lovely book gnomes? Any avid ebook readers out there? Let me know!

  1. While I am a lover of physical books, I have to admit, ebooks are absolutely amazing. Not only can you carry a thousand books in a device that fits in your hands and weighs only a pound, but they are way cheaper than physical books. Admitedly, both my digital and physical bookshleves are overflowing with books that I seriously need to read.
